Use AMC Workspaces
AMC Workspaces runs Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) reports for you without writing SQL. You connect your Amazon Ads account, confirm the advertiser, pick a report, and read the results with the method behind them. You can then schedule the report to repeat, or build an audience from the same data.
What your account needs
- An Amazon Ads login with AMC enabled. You need admin access to an Amazon Ads account that has AMC enabled. You approve the connection on Amazon.
- An advertiser with an AMC instance. AMC scopes everything to one advertiser. After you connect, MixShift finds the advertisers you can use and matches them to your AMC instances. You confirm the ones you work with.
- Two reports also need a paid AMC dataset. Organic vs Ad-Exposed reads the Flexible Shopping Insights dataset, and Customer Lifetime Value Trends reads the Retail Purchases dataset. Both are paid subscriptions from Amazon. Without the subscription, the run is refused instead of answered from a different table. The other reports do not need a paid dataset. A report such as CLTV Segmentation switches to a higher-fidelity version on its own when your advertiser has the Retail Purchases dataset.
Get to your first report
- Sign in once. Open AMC Workspaces from build.mixshift.ai. The first time, MixShift asks you to approve the app. See Sign in once at build.mixshift.ai and open your apps.
- Connect your Amazon Ads account. Go to Settings, Connections and sign in to Amazon. You approve access on Amazon and come straight back.
- Confirm the advertiser. Confirm one or more of the advertisers MixShift found. Every report and audience is scoped to the advertiser you have selected, and you can switch from the advertiser menu in the top bar. Each confirmed advertiser gets a data availability check, which usually takes under a minute, and reports become available when it finishes.
- Run your first report. Start with Sponsored Ads + DSP Overlap from Reports. Pick a date range, run it, and read the results and the methodology.
If you added a paid dataset subscription recently, choose Refresh data availability on the advertiser in Settings, Connections so MixShift checks again.
The reports
Choose New report to see the template list. AMC Workspaces offers 13 reports:
| Report | The question it answers |
|---|---|
| Sponsored Ads + DSP Overlap | Which ad type combinations drive sales, new-to-brand customers and average order value? Where should budget go? |
| Campaign Performance Overview | Which campaigns lead on sales and units, and which targeting strategies are winning? |
| Branded Search Lift | Is paid ad exposure driving more branded search? |
| CLTV Segmentation | How do spend and revenue per user compare across high and low lifetime value, growth and revenue opportunity segments? |
| Path-to-Conversion | Which sequences of ad touchpoints most often lead to a conversion? |
| Reach & Frequency Optimization | At what impression frequency do returns start to diminish? |
| DSP Geo Performance | Where does DSP spend turn into sales and new customers, by state, metro area and campaign? |
| New-to-Brand Drivers | Which campaigns, ad types and products bring in the most new-to-brand customers, and at what cost? |
| Tentpole Event Lift | Did the event lift sales and new customers over the lead-in, and what happened after? |
| Time to Conversion | How long do shoppers take from their first ad to their first purchase, and does it differ by the ad type that reached them first? |
| Path to Conversion + Brand Store | Do shoppers who visit the Brand Store convert more, spend more and come in new to brand? |
| Organic vs Ad-Exposed | How much of the sales of the brand on Amazon come from shoppers who saw an ad versus shoppers who did not? |
| Customer Lifetime Value Trends | How does customer value build over time, what does a customer cost, how often do they come back, and which products bring the best customers? |
Each template card shows its typical run time. Reports run in AMC, so a run takes a few minutes. Most reports cover shoppers who were reached by your ads. The last two cover every purchase of the brand on Amazon, which is why they need the paid datasets above.
Your report list
Reports lists every report produced in the workspace, newest first. From the list you can:
- Switch between This advertiser and All advertisers, and include archived reports.
- Search by title, report, advertiser, instance or date range, and filter by report type, status and advertiser. A report is queued, running, complete or failed.
- Open a report, Rename it, Re-run it with the same report, advertiser, date range and options, or Archive it. Archive asks you to confirm, and an archived report can be restored.
Inside a report, Run again starts it again with new settings and Schedule sets it to repeat. New schedule on the Reports page does the same from a template: you set the cadence and the date range on the next screen. Under Audiences you can build an audience from the same data.
The Filters and Export buttons on a report page are not available yet. They show "Coming soon".
Tell us what is missing
Use Feedback in the bar at the top of any page. A person at MixShift reads every note and replies to you personally. The Glossary button in the top bar defines the AMC terms used in reports and audiences.
