Connect MixShift to Claude
The MixShift plugin lets you ask Claude questions about your Amazon data in plain English. Install it once, sign in with your MixShift account, and you can explore your brands, reports, and advertising data from a chat. Setup takes about five minutes.
The plugin is in beta. It works today in Claude's Cowork desktop app; support for more tools is planned.
Before you start
- A Cowork account (Claude's desktop app for work).
- An active MixShift account. You sign in with the same email and password you use for MixShift.
- Node.js version 20 or newer on your computer. To check, open a terminal and run
node --version.
You do not need admin access for a personal install. If you are an org admin and want to roll the plugin out to your whole team at once, see the note at the bottom.
Step 1: Add the MixShift catalog
- In Cowork, click Customize in the left sidebar.
- Click the + button.
- Choose Add marketplace from GitHub.
- Paste
miXshift/mx-claude-pluginand confirm.
This registers the MixShift catalog on your seat only, not for your whole org.
Step 2: Install the plugin
- Open the Directory view (look for Skills / Connectors / Plugins under Customize).
- Find mixshift-ai in the plugin list and click Install.
- In the same view, turn on Sync automatically for the MixShift marketplace. Without it, you stay pinned to the version you first installed and miss updates.
The plugin appears under Personal plugins in your sidebar.
Step 3: Sign in
- Open any Cowork chat and say "sign in to mixshift" (or just "welcome").
- Claude asks for your work email, then opens the MixShift sign-in page in a browser tab.
- Sign in with your MixShift email and password. Your credentials stay on the sign-in page; the plugin never sees them.
- Return to the chat and say "done".
Claude confirms the sign-in and shows you the brands you have access to. The whole flow takes about 30 seconds.
Step 4: Try it
Ask something real:
- "What brands do I have access to?"
- "Show me last week's ad spend for [your brand]."
- "Explore my data."
If Claude returns your brands and data, you are set.
Notes
- Sign-in uses a short-lived token that refreshes automatically. There are no database passwords to manage and no IP whitelists to set up.
- Everyone at your MixShift org sees the same brands once signed in. Per-user data scoping is not available today.
- If commands will not run on a personal Claude plan, check that code execution is turned on under claude.ai Settings, Capabilities.
For org admins: install for your whole team
An org admin can publish the plugin once so every seat in your Cowork org gets it: go to Organization settings, then Plugins, add miXshift/mx-claude-plugin as a GitHub source, and optionally mark it required so it installs automatically for everyone. Each person still signs in with their own MixShift account the first time they use it.
