Issue #2: What shipped in 0.8.6 and 0.8.7, and the one skill to try first.
Guided updates, scheduled tasks that survive nobody being at the keyboard, and feedback that always reaches us.
Last week we showed you where everything lives. This week: what actually shipped in the two most recent releases, and the one thing to try first.
The current version is 0.8.7, shipped 2026-07-31, one week after 0.8.6. This issue catches you up on both. Full release notes are always at mixshift.ai/releases, and the deeper how-to docs for each solution now live in the MixShift Knowledge Base. You can also ask "what's new with MixShift?" in Claude with the plugin.
Try this this week: update the plugin
If you have not updated since installing, this is the week. Say:
"update the plugin"
The mx-update skill checks your version, walks you through the exact update steps for your setup (terminal, Claude Code, or Cowork), and then offers the recommended follow-ups for what shipped since your version, one at a time, with your confirmation before anything runs. A session now tells you at the start when a newer version is available, and as of 0.8.7 the update checks and guided update work inside sandboxed Cowork and Claude Code sessions too, so you will not miss a release again.
One note for teams on org-level installs: when a new release ships, the org-level zip needs to be re-installed via the newest version from the releases page. Personal installs update in place.
What shipped: 0.8.6 and 0.8.7
0.8.6 (2026-07-23) was about unattended work and cleaner output. 0.8.7 (2026-07-31) added the last missing ad-write and an early analysis engine. The highlights for operators:
1. Change Sponsored Brands bids without leaving MixShift (0.8.7)
Sponsored Brands was the one ad type you still had to touch in Amazon's console: product target bids and state changes had to be entered by hand while the rest of your plan applied automatically. Now a Sponsored Brands target bid or state change goes through the same preview, confirm, and commit flow as Sponsored Products and Display, video campaigns included. You can list targets and create or retire negative product targets the same way.
Now you can: apply a whole Sponsored Brands plan end to end in one place instead of splitting it between MixShift and the console.
2. Scheduled tasks that keep working with nobody at the keyboard (0.8.6)
Say "set up a scheduled task" and the new mx-scheduled-task skill builds the whole thing: a persistent folder attached to the task, a service credential stored inside it, task instructions that re-establish everything at the start of every run, and a verified first run. It also repairs existing scheduled tasks that report "not signed in" or "No credentials found."
Now you can: put your daily health checks, runaway-spend sweeps, and report pulls on a schedule and trust them to fire, instead of babysitting credentials.
3. Feedback and reporting reach us from anywhere (0.8.6)
Feedback and usage reporting used to fail quietly from sandboxed and scheduled runs. As of 0.8.6 everything travels through the one domain every install already requires, so a bug report sent from a scheduled task actually reaches the MixShift team, and 0.8.7 stopped long reports from being cut short, so a detailed report goes through in full.
Now you can: say "send feedback" from any surface, including inside a scheduled run that just hit something odd, and know the whole report arrived.
4. Big results stopped flooding the screen (0.8.6)
Large query results now save to a CSV with a short summary and a preview of the first rows, instead of printing every row into your chat. Big Amazon report downloads keep a slow download going, retry a stalled one automatically, and save to a file with a preview rather than dumping the whole document.
Now you can: pull wide result sets and large reports without scrolling through a wall of rows to find your next thought.
Also in 0.8.7, in closed beta: MixShift Intelligence, a new command family that runs our analysis engine over a merchant and a period and hands back a finished read (operations, advertising, a combined view of TACOS and paid pressure, month over month and year over year, and lost sales) instead of raw rows. It is switched on per account. To ask for early access, reply here or write to support@mixshift.io.

Builder Platform: for the developers on your team
MixShift also ships a Builder Platform for teams building directly on our API and warehouse. Those releases are labeled by date rather than by plugin version, so they live in their own section. If you are not writing code against MixShift, you can skip this part.
1. The API now writes, not just reads (2026-07-31)
This is the big one. Until now the Builder Platform was read-only. As of this release it takes writes: listing-content changes on existing SKUs behind a preview-then-commit contract, Sponsored Brands product targets created and bid on over the API, and theme-based bid recommendations on Amazon's current (v4) media type. There is also a public query-catalog manifest a client can read before it authenticates.
Now you can: build write workflows straight against the MixShift API with the same preview-then-commit safety the plugin gives you, on what used to be a read-only platform.
2. One brand resolved across every surface (2026-07-23)
Cross-surface brand identity resolution: one brand resolves to its identifiers across Seller Central, Vendor Central, Sponsored Ads, and DSP in a single call.
Now you can: stop stitching brand identifiers together by hand, one call maps a brand across every Amazon surface.

What can we solve for you?
Reply to this email. It goes to MixShift, and every reply gets a personal answer. If we already solve your problem, we point you at the skill. If we build it, we ship it with your name on the release note.

Talk next week.
